Meet Mike Salvi
He's been on every side of a loss.
Mike Salvi founded Salvi Public Adjusters in 2004. Before he ever represented a policyholder, he fought fires — first for the Navy, then for a fire department — and investigated their causes. When you call, you reach Mike, not a call center.
From the fire to the claim
Mike is a U.S. Navy veteran. He served aboard the USS Bagley as a damage controlman — the ship's firefighter, the person responsible for keeping a vessel alive when something goes wrong at sea. He carried that into civilian life as a firefighter in northern Texas, where he rose to officer and became a licensed arson investigator, trained to read a fire scene and reconstruct exactly what happened and why.
That investigator's eye led him into insurance. Mike worked as an independent adjuster on hurricane and storm claims across the southeastern states — learning the carrier side of the business from the inside, on some of the largest catastrophe losses in the country. In 2004 he moved back to Massachusetts to be near family and founded Salvi Public Adjusters, turning that experience to work for policyholders instead of insurers.
Experience that shows up in your claim
Over 22+ years, Mike has built a reputation across the industry — more than a dozen storm deployments and claims valued into the tens of millions. He is a licensed public adjuster in MA, NH, TX, VA, LA, NC & FL, and a Certified Property Appraiser & Umpire through the Insurance Appraisal and Umpire Association (IAUA) — the credential that lets him serve as a neutral in the appraisal process, not just an advocate in it.
What that means for you: the person handling your claim has stood on the fire ground, investigated the cause of a loss, worked the carrier's side of catastrophe claims, and been trusted as a neutral appraiser. Very few adjusters have seen a loss from all of those angles.
Independent, and staying that way
We're a family firm, not a franchise or a conglomerate. As the local New England public-adjusting market gets absorbed by larger, out-of-region players, we've stayed independent — and we still answer our own phone. The person who reviews your claim is the person who fights for it.
Off the clock
When he's not on a claim, Mike is usually on the water — relaxing on his boat in Boston Harbor — or in the garage restoring old automobiles. He's a father of three: two sons and a daughter.
How we're paid
No upfront fees. Our fee comes out of the settlement we recover for you — so our incentive is the same as yours: the largest fair recovery, handled with care.
